Xiaomi Redmi 5 || Detailed Specs ||

Xiaomi's all new Redmi 5 launched today in India....

Xiaomi has just launched its Redmi 5 in India and the phone has a lot to offer at an amazing price. So lets just start up with the specifications of the phone without any further boring speeches.



  • Specification Highlights- 5.7 inch 18:9 HD+ display, 3300 mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, Adreno 506, MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat, 12 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera with a selfie flash, Three storage and RAM variants- 2GB/16GB variant at Rs 7,999, 3GB/32GB variant at Rs 8,999 and the 4GB/64GB variant at Rs 10,999. 
Now lets have a look at the detailed specs of the device.
  • Display - The Redmi 5 has a 5.7 inch 18:9 display with a a resolution of 1440*720 pixels i.e. HD+ screen. The  corners of the screen are rounded and ergonomically curved for a better feel in hand.
  • Processor - The Redmi 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 450 processor which is an octa-core processor with a maximum Clock Speed of 1.8 GHz and is based on the 14 nm FinFET Technology. The GPU that you'll get with this one is the Adreno 506 which is pretty decent for gaming and can handle games without any lags or heating issues.
  • Camera - The Redmi 5 has pretty decent cameras, it has a 12 MP (f/2.2) sensor on the back and a 5 MP (f/2.0) camera for taking selfies. The 12 MP rear camera has a 1.25μm  pixel size which can capture good photos in different lighting conditions. The front camera is paired with a LED Flash which would be helpful in taking good selfies in dark environment.
  • OS and UI - The Redmi 5 comes with Android Nougat out of the box with Xiaomi's custom UI, MIUI 9. The MIUI 9 system level optimizations enables low power consumption for a longer battery life. 
  • Battery - It has a 3300 mAh battery which according to Xiaomi can provide a standby time of up to 31 days. Xiaomi claims that under regular usage, the battery can last you for more than a day, if you play games continuously then it can last for up to 9 hours and with continuous video playback, it can easily last for more than 10 hours.
  • Price and Availability - The Redmi 5 will be sold via Amazon, Mi store, Mi Home and at all offline stores which are Xiaomi's preferred partners. The device has three storage and RAM variants. The first variant has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and is priced at Rs 7,999, the second variant has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and costs Rs 8,999 and the third variant has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and it is priced at Rs 10,999.

You'll also get an instant cashback of Rs 2,200 from Jio with the Redmi 5 and you'll also get additional 100 GB of 4G data. Also SBI is offering 5% Cashback with SBI credit card on Mi.com and Amazon.
So, the Redmi 5 is good device and is somewhat better in comparison to many devices that are available at the same price in the market.
