Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform – The new Premium Mid-Range Processor???

Qualcomm has announced the brand-new Snapdragon 710 mobile platform which is the first processor of the Snapdragon 700 series. It is based on 10 nm FINFet technology and comes with Multicore AI Engine. So without wasting much time, lets find out what the processor is capable of doing.

The brand new Snapdragon 710 processor is an Octa-core CPU with eight Qualcomm Kryo 360 cores which can go up to a frequency of 2.2 GHz max. The processor is based on 10 nm FINFet technology which means that the processor is going to be much more power efficient and Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 710 is 30% more power-efficient than the previous generation processors.

The multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine is designed to deliver up to 2x overall improvements for on-device AI applications compared to the previous generation. The processor is coupled with the brand-new Adreno 616 GPU which supports lifelike visuals and efficient rendering of advanced 3D graphics.

We also get a new modem with this SoC which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 Modem which has a peak download speed of 800 Mbps and a peak Upload speed of 150 Mbps. It also has the support for Bluetooth 5.0 (Peak Speed – 2 Mbps), NFC and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.

Talking about the ISP, it has the Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP which supports up to 32 MP single camera or up to 20 MP dual camera. It comes with accelerated EIS, Hybrid autofocus, Zero Shutter lag, Ultra 4K video capture at 30 fps and 1080p video capture at up to 120fps.

So, these were some of the main features of the Snapdragon 710 processor. It is more focused on AI and this will help in enhancing the camera quality, power efficiency, face unlock system, and what not. The processor is obviously better than the Snapdragon 660 but don’t consider it to be better than the Snapdragon 800 series. Lets see which phone will be the first one to be powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor.
