BlackBerry Key2... || Price and Specifications ||

BlackBerry has launched the BlackBerry Key2 with a physical keyboard.

Yesterday, at an event held in New York, TCL officially announced the BlackBerry Key2 which is the successor of the BlackBerry KeyOne which was launched last year. As its predecessor, BlackBerry Key2 also features the company's iconic physical keyboard and the same square shaped design. Now lets begin with the Specs of the handset.

  • Specification Highlights - 4.5 inch FHD screen, Android 8.1 Oreo, Snapdragon 660, 12+12 MP dual rear camera and 8 MP front camera, 3500 mAh battery, 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage.

The BlackBerry Key2 is similar to the BlackBerry KeyOne in terms design. Key2 features a 4.5 inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD resolution (1080 x 1620 pixels) and comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. BlackBerry has promised monthly security updates and also one major OS update. This means that the phone will get the Android P Update. BlackBerry Key2 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor which is an Octa-Core CPU with a Max Clock Speed of 2.2 GHz and is coupled with the Adreno 512 GPU, so you'll be getting smooth and steady day-to-day performance and even the gaming on this phone is also going to be smooth and without any lag.

The camera on this device are much improved and better than that on the KeyOne. This phone has a dual rear camera setup which we have seen for the first time on a BlackBerry Smartphone. The rear camera setup consists of two 12 MP sensors, one of them is a regular lens with an aperture of f/1.8 and the other one is a telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture that's used for optical zooming and portrait shots. On the front, there's a 8 MP camera which has Slow-motion and panorama modes and can record Full HD videos at 30 fps.

One of the main features of the Smartphone is the physical keyboard and the space bar of the physical keyboard still doubles as a camera shutter button and a fingerprint sensor. Further, this time TCL has removed the extra "right shift" key and has replaced it with a "speed" key which works as an app launcher and lets you set specific keys as shortcuts for different apps. Lets say you've set F for launching Facebook, then you just have to press and hold speed key and then press f and you'll be headed to Facebook. Also you can navigating through the UI by scrolling over the physical keyboard.

The phone sports a 3500 mAh battery which can give you a battery backup of one working day. Further it is made for professionals and for those who loved the physical keyboard. The phone comes with 6 GB of RAM and the storage options available are 64 GB and 128 GB. Talking about the pricing, it is priced at $649 ( roughly INR 44,000 ) for the 64 GB storage variant.
