Moto Z3 Play.... New Flagship from Motorola??

MOTO Z3 Play Launched with 18:9 Display and Moto Mods Support

Smartphone Company Motorola is looking to capture the market with its new launches. On Wednesday, Motorola launched Moto Z3 Play which is eventually a successor to the Moto Z2 Play. Talking about changes, this smartphone has done some noticeable ones in design and hardware department. It also continues the Moto Mod concept of the flagship Z series .So without wasting any time further, let’s jump to the features and specs.

  • Specification Highlights - 6.01 inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 636 processor, Android 8.1 Oreo, 12+5 MP dual rear camera, 8 MP front Camera, 4 GB RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB storage options, 3000 mAh battery.

It is all because of thinner bezels, the Moto Z3 Play  features a 6.01-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels). The display aspect ratio is 18:9. The phone is made up of  aluminium and has Gorilla Glass 3 protection at top, front and back both. The handset comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and is powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor which is an octa-core SoC coupled with the Adreno 509 GPU. This smartphone comes with 4 GB of RAM and will be available in two storage variants, 32 GB and 64 GB.

Now, talking about the camera department, this smartphone offers you a dual camera setup at the back and a single selfie camera. On the rear side, you get a 12 MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 and the helper lens is a 5 MP shooter for collecting depth information. Further, the front camera is a 8 MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 and for low light selfies, the screen acts as a flash.

Moto Z3 Play comes with a 3,000 mAh battery and it can be fast charged via the Type-C port present in the phone. Though it does not have wireless charging support, but it has Moto Mod for it. And to free certain space, fingerprint sensor has been side mounted which behaves as an add-on to the device's design. The Moto Z3 Play looks premium but the processor of the phone is not of the premium category
The phone is priced at $499( approximately Rs. 33,000) which is really high as compared to the specs that the phone is offering. However, the price and availability of the phone in India is unknown as of now. But you can expect Moto Z3 Play and its Moto Mods to hit the market very soon. And if Motorola wants to sell this phone in India then the pricing of the phone should be kept competitive otherwise there's no scope for the success of this phone.
