A new variant of Vivo V9 launched with Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6 GB of RAM.

Vivo V9 with Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6 GB of RAM launched in Indonasia.

Recently, Vivo launched a new variant of the Vivo V9 in Indonesia and this new variant sports 6 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB of RAM on the standard variant and this one is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor. The original V9 which was launched a month earlier was powered by the Snapdragon 626 SoC and which means that this new variant is much more powerful than the original one.

First of all, starting with the major changes in the device. As mentioned above, this new variant sports 6 GB of RAM in comparison to the Standard variant of the Vivo V9 which was launched with 4 GB of RAM. And the new variant is powered by the much more powerful Snapdragon 660 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 626 chipset which was present on the Standard Vivo V9. 

Also there are changes in the camera department. The new Vivo V9 sports a dual rear camera which includes a 13 MP main shooter and a 2 MP helper lens for portrait mode and some other effects. Talking about the font camera, it has a 12 MP shooter for taking selfies. To put these in perspective, the Standard Vivo V9 had a 16+5 MP dual rear Camera setup on the back and o the front, it had a 24 MP camera. 

Apart from the above mentioned changes, the rest of the Specifications of the phone remain the same. It sports a 6.3 inch 19:9 screen with a display notch at the top, it has a 3260 mAh battery, a micro-USB port (still no Type-C), 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi and a 3.5 mm Audio jack. 

As of now this new variant has been launched in Indonesia only and there's no information about the availability of this variant in any other country. Talking about the price of this new variant, it has been priced at IDR 4,299 (roughly Rs 20,600) which is less than the price of the Standard Vivo V9 which is sold in India at Rs 22,990.
