Honor 9N..... Will it be able to beat its competitors??

Honor 9N launched with a Notched display, a 16 Mp front camera and a Dual rear camera setup.

Huawei's sub-brand, Honor has launched a new Smartphone in the budget segment and this phone is a new member of the Honor 9-series. It is named as Honor 9N and this phone comes with a notched display and has a 16 MP front facing camera. Very  few budget-smartphones in India come with a notched display. So lets just get into it without wasting more time.

  • Specification Highlights - 5.84 inch FHD+ display, Android 8.0 Oreo, Kirin 659 SoC, 13+2 MP dual rear camera and 16 MP front camera, 3000 mAh battery, 3 GB/4 GB of RAM and 32 GB/64 GB/128 GB of storage.
Honor 9N features a 5.84 inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) TFT-LCD display with a notch on the top which contains the front camera, earpiece and the basic sensors of the phone. Cameras are the Highlighting feature of the Honor 9N, so lets have a look at them. On the rear of the phone, there's a dual camera setup which consists of a 13 MP primary camera and a 2 MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture along with an LED flash. The front camera of the phone is a 16 MP shooter and both the front and rear camera support portrait mode and it works good. Both the cameras can record a video at up to 1080p i.e. Full HD. A mode in the camera called AR Lens is an additional feature and it helps the user to use different filters and the user can do many cool things with his/her photos using this AR Lens feature.

Under the hood, it has a 3,000 mAh battery which should be able to provide a battery life of one day. For security, you get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock too. Both of them work fine and are pretty fast. The connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2, WiFi 802.11 ac, a 3.5 mm Audio jack and 4G VoLTE. It has two RAM options including 3 GB and 4 GB and three storage options that include 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

Now, talking about the price, the 3 GB/32 GB variant of the device is priced at Rs 11,999, 4 GB/64 GB variant comes with a price tag of 13,999 and the 4 GB/128 GB variant costs Rs 17,999. It will be sold via Flipkart and the first sale will begin at 12 noon on 31st July.

So, Honor 9N is a nice smartphone and it offers value for money specifications apart from the 128 GB storage variant. Paying Rs 18k for only storage is not worth when you have a microSD card on the phone. The storage of the phone is expandable up to 256 GB. So if you want to buy this phone, then just go for it but don't think of buying the 128 GB variant because it is a bit over-priced.
