Mi A2 launched in India.... The best phone under 17k??

Mi A2 launched in India with Snapdragon 660 SoC and a 20 MP front camera....

The Mi A2 was globally launched approx 2 weeks ago and today, it has finally made its way to India. The phone comes with Google's Android One program i.e. it will get faster updates and at least two major Android updates. The 4 GB/32 GB variant of the Mi A2 will not be sold in India. So lets talk about the Mi 2 in detail...

  • Mi A2 - Specifications
Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99 inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 403 PPI with 2.5 D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC which is an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and is paired with the Adreno 512 GPU.

Now, talking about the cameras, it features a 20 MP fixed focus front facing camera with an aperture of f/1.75 and a soft LED flash for better selfies at night. On the back side of the phone, it has a dual-camera setup which consists of a 12 MP primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture and a 20 MP secondary camera with the same aperture. AI plays a major role in both the front and the rear cameras and both the cameras support portrait mode. Mi A2 is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 fps and slow motion videos in 720p at 120 fps.

It packs a 3010 mAh battery which may last for a typical working day. The sensors on-board include Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, proximity sensors, E-compass, a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and hall sensor. Now talking about the connectivity options, it includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port and Bluetooth v5.0. You must be thinking that I just missed the audio jack; well, it was intentional, because sadly this phone does not come with an audio jack.

As I mentioned earlier, it comes in a 4 GB/64 GB variant in India and it is priced at Rs 16,999, the 6 GB/128 GB variant has also been launnched but it will come after some time and no details regarding its price is available as of now. It will be sold exclusively via Amazon and the pre-order for the 4 GB variant starts 9th August, 12 pm. The phone completely justifies its price and it is worth spending Rs 17k for this phone.
