The Microsoft Surface Go.... Can it replace a laptop??

Microsoft Surface Go : Price and Specifications.....

The Microsoft Surface Go was launched quite recently and the device is really impressive and this time Microsoft has done a great job with its surface series. Probably this is the first Surface device that is justifies its price because in my opinion, the early surface devices were really overpriced. Now without wasting more time, lets talk about the Surface Go in detail...

  • Microsoft Surface Go - Specs :
The Surface Go comes with a 10 inch Full HD ( 1200 x 1800 pixels ) PixelSense display with corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display comes with 10-point multi-touch support and an aspect ratio of 3:2. It runs Windows 10 in S mode and is powered by Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor which is a dual core CPU based on 14 nm technology and is coupled with Intel HD Graphics 615.

It comes in two memory variants viz 4 GB and 8 GB; the 4 GB memory variant comes with 64 GB eMMC drive and the 8 GB memory variant comes with a 128 GB SSD. The battery of Surface Go is claimed to offer up to 9 hours of video playback. The security options include TPM 2.0 for enterprise security and Enterprise-grade protection with Windows Hello face sign-in.

Talking about the cameras, it comes with a 8 MP rear-facing auto-focus camera with 1080p HD video recording and a 5 MP front-facing camera that supports 1080p Skype HD video. And the webcam (front camera) on this portable laptop is just better than any other laptop out there in the market (even the premium laptops).

The connectivity options on Surface Go includes 1 USB Type-C port, 1 Surface connect port, a Surface Type cover port, microSDXC card reader, Bluetooth v4.1 and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The sensors on board include Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Magnetometer (compass). The Surface Go measures 245 mm x 175 mm x 8.30 mm and weighs 522 gram (without the Type Cover).

Talking about the price, the 4 GB/ 64 GB variant is priced at $399 ( Rs 27,400 approx ) and the 8 GB/128 GB variant costs $549 ( Rs 37,700 approx ). So, yes it does justify its price but the only thing is that you need a keyboard to type comfortably an the Type case of the Surface Go which contains a trackpad and a super comfortable keys costs $129 alone. ( But its worth buying )
